1. Who we are
This policy applies to CWH Concrete Construction (ABN 41 700 862 143), a residential concreting business based in Ringwood, Victoria, and to this website at cwhconcrete.com.au. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean CWH Concrete Construction.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. What we collect
When you request a quote or get in touch, we collect:
- your name;
- your phone number;
- your email address;
- your suburb, and — if you go ahead with a quote — the address of the job;
- the type of work you're asking about; and
- anything else you choose to tell us in the message field, over the phone, or on site.
If we quote or carry out work for you, we will also hold records about that job: measurements and site notes, photographs of the work (including the base and reinforcement before the pour), quotes, invoices and payment records.
Our web host also automatically records standard technical information for every visit — IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running and to block abuse. We do not use it to try to identify you.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you:
- fill in a quote form on this website;
- call, text or email us;
- talk to us during a site visit; or
- engage us to carry out work.
We may also receive your details from someone who refers you to us — a builder, a landscaper, a pool builder or a previous customer. If that happens, we only use those details to contact you about the job you were referred for.
4. Why we collect it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange a time to look at the job;
- prepare and send you a written quote;
- carry out the work, and deal with councils, suppliers or trades where the job requires it;
- invoice you and keep the tax and business records we're required by law to keep;
- answer questions about work we've already done; and
- where you've asked us to, follow up about a quote you haven't yet decided on.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade contact lists.
If we ever want to use photographs of your job in our marketing — including on this website — we'll ask you first. Photographs are taken so that the job is documented, not so that it can be advertised.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it's needed to do the job or run the business:
- Our CRM and email providers — quote requests submitted through this website are forwarded to the software we use to manage enquiries, so nothing gets lost.
- Our web host — which stores this website and processes form submissions.
- Suppliers, subcontractors and trades — where a specific job requires it, and only the details they need.
- Your council — where the job involves a crossover, footpath, asset protection or vehicle crossing permit.
- Our accountant and, if needed, our insurer or lawyers.
- Anyone we're legally required to disclose to — a court, a regulator or a law enforcement agency.
6. Cookies and this website
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. It doesn't track you across other websites, and there is no advertising pixel on it.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads. Google may log that request, including your IP address, under its own privacy policy.
If we later add website analytics or advertising conversion tracking, we will update this section before those tools go live.
7. Storage outside Australia
Some of the services we rely on — our website host and our customer relationship management (CRM) software — are provided by companies based overseas, including in the United States. That means your name, phone number, email address, suburb and enquiry message may be stored on, or accessible from, servers outside Australia.
By sending us an enquiry, you acknowledge that your information may be disclosed to and held by these overseas providers, and that Australian Privacy Principle 8.1 will not apply to that disclosure. We choose established providers, but we can't guarantee that an overseas recipient will handle your information in a way that complies with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. How we store and protect it
We hold personal information electronically, and occasionally on paper (site notes, signed quotes). We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — including access-controlled accounts, encrypted connections to this website, and server-side checks on the quote form that filter out automated spam before it reaches us.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and, where the law requires it, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
9. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected, and for as long as the law requires — which for tax and building records is generally a number of years after the work is finished. When information is no longer needed and we're not required to keep it, we destroy or de-identify it.
10. Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
There are limited situations where we may not be able to delete everything — for example, where we're legally required to keep a record of work performed or a tax invoice. If that applies, we'll tell you why.
You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any time. If you've asked us not to follow up on a quote, we'll note that and stop.
11. Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, contact us first — most things are fixed fastest with a phone call. Tell us what happened and what you'd like done about it.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or by calling 1300 363 992.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business or this website changes. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top.
